Can I claim for crutches via Extras cover?
Eligibility
To claim for crutches (or other items listed below) you need to be on Top Extras cover with any applicable waiting period served.
Products
You may be able to claim towards hiring or purchasing (from a registered Australian business with a physical presence in Australia):
- Crutches
- Knee scooter
- Rollator
- Walking frame
- Walker/wheelie walker
- Walking stick
- White cane.
Claiming
When submitting your claim, please include:
- Itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be using the product).
Limits
Like most services under the Artificial Aids & Appliances benefit, Crutches has an annual sub-limit. In this case there are separate limits for purchasing and hiring a device.
