Can I claim for orthotic devices or repairs via Extras cover?


To claim for orthotic devices or repairs, you need to be on Top Extras with any applicable waiting period served. 


You may be able to claim towards the purchase, or repair, of orthotics that are:

  • Custom-made
  • Moulded or heat-moulded pre-made.

You can’t claim towards products that are:

  • Off-the-shelf
  • Purchased in a retail store.


When submitting your claim, please include an itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be using the product).
