Full hearts at the Narragunnawali Reconciliation in Education Awards
30 April 2026
We love the opportunity to celebrate the life-changing work our teachers do every day. So a highlight of 2025 was partnering with Reconciliation Australia to sponsor the schools category of the Narragunnawali Reconciliation in Education Awards 2025.
Celebrating the heartfelt work of teachers and schools
The Narragunnawali Reconciliation in Education Awards are the only national awards that recognise and celebrate Australian schools and early learning services that are implementing outstanding reconciliation initiatives.
As guests at the 2025 awards night, we were humbled to witness the efforts of the winners and finalists bringing their reconciliation initiatives to life in their classrooms and beyond.
It was inspiring to see the schools that are putting their heart and soul into connecting and healing our children, families and communities.
As Principal Tammy Anderson of Briar Road Public School (this year’s winner) says:
“Our schools are becoming places where Aboriginal voices are heard, where Country informs the learning and where every student can see their story reflected in their education.”
Congratulations to the three schools selected as finalists and winners for the 2025 awards:
Winner:
Briar Road Public School
Dharawal Country
Finalist:
Karuah Public School
Worimi Country
Finalist:
Bannister Creek Primary School
Whadjuk Noongar Country
Championing change and connection together
Just like our teachers who foster compassion, respect and understanding in classrooms everywhere, Teachers Health recognises that reconciliation is a shared responsibility.
Brad Joyce, CEO of Teachers Health Group says:
‘As we continue on our Innovate RAP journey, we understand the importance and value of the Narragunnawali program and we’re proud to sponsor the 2025 awards, recognising schools that are walking the path of reconciliation with purpose and heart.’
Our partnership with Reconciliation Australia gives us the opportunity to celebrate and support those educators doing the heavy lifting to promote reconciliation, which impacts the health and wellbeing of all Australians.
As Principal Tammy Anderson encourages:
“Let us go back to our schools with vision and build a future where the next generation stands taller because of the work we’ve done today.”
