Teachers Union Health named Private Health Insurer of the Year (Not for Profit or Restricted) 2025

Friday 1 May 2026: Teachers Union Health (TUH), now part of Teachers Health Group (THG), has been named Private Health Insurer of the Year (Not for Profit or Restricted) 2025, further cementing the Group’s long-standing track record of excellence in member satisfaction and customer service.

The award, announced last night by independent researcher Roy Morgan, adds to a strong history of recognition for Teachers Health Group (THG) brands. Over the past decade, THG has received multiple Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards, reflecting consistently high and industry-leading levels of trust and loyalty from its members, including:

2024 Private Health Insurer of the Year, and Private Health Insurer of the Year (Not for Profit or Restricted)
2022 Private Health Insurer of the Year (Not for Profit or Restricted)
2015 Private Health Insurer of the Year (Not for Profit or Restricted)
2013 Private Health Insurer of the Year

Teachers Health Group CEO Brad Joyce said the 2025 award reinforces the strength of the Group’s purpose-led model and its focus on supporting the education and healthcare communities.

“This recognition for TUH is part of a much broader story for Teachers Health Group,” Mr Joyce said.

“Our brands have been recognised by Roy Morgan time and again because our members are genuinely at the centre of every decision we make.”

“We are focused on delivering benefits our members actually need, removing what they don’t, and ensuring genuine value and care at every stage of their lives. To see our approach acknowledged again in 2025 is incredibly rewarding.”

The Roy Morgan wins come off the back of THG having one of the lowest average premium increases across the private health insurance industry at the recent April 1 review – with THG’s annual premium increase of 3.94% significantly lower than the industry average of 4.41% and major health funds including NIB (5.47%), Bupa (4.8%), HCF (4.96%) and Medibank (5.1%).

Mr Joyce said being not-for-profit remains a key differentiator.

“Our members know their premiums are reinvested into better services, stronger benefits and long-term value. That trust is something we never take for granted,” he said.

“TUH has had a big year, completing its merger with Teachers Health in mid-2025, and now winning the Private Health Insurer of the Year (Not for Profit or Restricted) at the 2025 Roy Morgan Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards” said Roy Morgan CEO, Michele Levine.

“TUH had an exceptional 2025 and won all 12 monthly customer satisfaction awards to easily win its category with an average customer satisfaction of 91.1% for the year.

“The exceptionally high customer satisfaction provided by Teachers Health Group in 2025, as well in recent years, is a strong foundation for the group that is the only health fund in Australia dedicated to serving teachers, educators, nurses, and midwives and their families”.
