Effective 10 October 2025
Helping you access online, clinically proven programs
From 10 October, if you have Extras cover, you’ll be able to claim for Digital mental health support* programs from THIS WAY UP as part of your Psychology yearly limit.
Because looking after your mental health can be deeply personal, these programs are a convenient option if you’re time-poor or simply need support that fits you. Developed by psychiatrists and clinical psychologists, these programs are designed to help you manage challenges, from stress and insomnia to anxiety and depression.
What is THIS WAY UP?
THIS WAY UP offers trusted online cognitive behavioural therapy programs. These use evidence-based techniques for managing anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. It is a joint venture between St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and the University of NSW.
What programs are available?
These range from ones that help with general wellbeing and stress management to specific conditions like anxiety or depression. Each offers practical skills and strategies – these are all covered by your Extras.
Some programs, that you can claim for, can help with anxiety (also for specific cases like social, pregnancy and postnatal anxiety), depression, panic, chronic pain or OCD.
Others, such as those for mindfulness, insomnia and stress management are free.
