What’s the Mental Health Waiver?
The Mental Health Waiver helps members who aren’t on Top Hospital (Gold)* access in-hospital (inpatient) psychiatric treatment.
Members on lower levels of Hospital cover can use the waiver to upgrade to Top Hospital (Gold) and be admitted to hospital right away – without serving the usual two-month waiting period.
How to use the Mental Health Waiver
* Top Hospital (Gold) is our only level of Hospital cover on which the Hospital psychiatric services clinical category is covered (rather than restricted).
