What if I need to go to hospital during the waiting period?
If it’s been less than 12 months since you joined (or upgraded) and you might have a pre-existing condition, you’ll need to complete and submit the Pre-existing Condition Certificate form. Both your GP and treating specialist must fill in the sections relevant to them.
We’ll then review the information and assess if the treatment relates to a pre-existing condition.
It’s best to complete and submit the form as soon as you know you need hospital treatment, as the assessment can take up to five working days.
