Can I claim for medicinal cannabis via Extras cover?
You can claim for Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)-approved medicinal cannabis that’s been prescribed by a treating practitioner. At the time of writing, only one product is TGA-approved.

Non-TGA-approved medicinal cannabis
Doctors can apply to the TGA to prescribe non-approved medicinal cannabis products through a number of pathways, including the Special Access Scheme. Please note that you won’t be able to claim for these products under your Extras cover.
