What are clinical categories?
Clinical categories are groups of hospital treatments (or ‘services’). There are 38 categories (Ear, nose and throat and Digestive system are two examples).
The government has also specified which treatments have to be included in each category, so they’re the same across all health funds.
On our Hospital Product Sheets you’ll see each category is either covered, restricted or excluded.
