Guidelines for working onsite
Updated 23/02/2022
Please read the guidelines carefully. We all need to understand and follow them – to comply with government (and company) directives and out of respect for others.
Thanks in advance for your efforts on this one. Your contribution is an important part of creating a happier and healthier workplace for all.
What's covered here
Personal accountability
If you're unwell
During COVID-19, your actions can protect (or endanger) you and your workmates. And your loved ones outside of work. And your workmates’ loved ones… you get the point!
So first up – and we can’t stress this enough – stay home if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, including those which may indicate COVID-19.
If you’re unsure whether you should get tested and what test to get, check who should get tested and when.
Be ready for anything
In these uncertain times, things can change in an instant. To ensure we can keep our business operating and keep you working, you must take your laptop and headset home each day.
If it’s not possible, ensure it’s locked away, for security reasons, and not left on your desk.
If in doubt, call it out
Accountability means being mindful of our actions during the most mundane of tasks. But even with the best intentions, anyone can switch to autopilot and make a mistake.
If you see someone drop the ball on the physical distancing, cleaning or sanitising front, respectfully call it out so they can put it right. This too, is part of doing your bit.

Checking in to work
QR code check-in is no longer required for the building or any of our office levels.
Distancing
While the term physical distancing is already etched in our minds, here’s how it applies at Head Office:
- Getting in & out – observe the one-way entry and exit points to the lobby
- The lifts – follow the rules around the maximum number of people in a lift
- Tape marks – please use them to keep your distance
- Personal contact – please avoid
- Desk spacing – Please note that the space between chairs for all workstations is more than 1.5m
Cleaning
Head Office is well stocked with cleaning products: hand sanitiser, sani-wipes, surface spray bottles and paper towels. Please follow the below instructions to the letter – this is a requirement, not a 'nice to have' or 'if you have time'.
Head Office continues to get daily toilet cleaning, vacuuming, once a week dusting, and other spot cleaning including rubbish removal.
If we’re running short on sanitiser or other cleaning supplies email facilities@teachershealth.com.au
Here’s what to clean (and how):
You
- Hands – sanitise them before you touch anything – coffee machines, fridges, bins, cupboards, buttons, you name it. Even if they’re clean, avoid touching things you don’t have to. See how to keep em’ clean
Your stuff
- Mobile phone & access pass – attack them with a sani-wipe when you arrive or re-enter the office
- Desk, chair & work equipment – allocate time to give them a thorough going over at the start of each day. How to sanitise your workstation
Your environment
- Refresher stations (mini kitchens on each floor) – clean immediately after use. Tea towels are out; paper towels are in
- Hub bench, lunch table & chair (or anywhere you eat) – clean surfaces immediately after use.
At the end of the day
Be sure to take your laptop and headset with you when you go home. Store your work and personal items in your pedestal or locker each night. Only leave the desk phone, keyboard, mouse and docking station on your desk surface. Your desk should look like this:
Meetings
We're all used to this now, but here's a reminder:
- Internal – Meeting rooms now seat fewer people – if you’re onsite please follow distancing rules. Dial-in anyone who’s working remotely or prefers to stay at their desk.
- External – All visitors to Head Office (including contractors) must be fully vaccinated. It’s the responsibility of employees to ensure their visitors are double vaccinated. We reserve the right to undertake random checks of the vaccination status of all visitors and contractors.
