How can I change a name on my membership?

Before updating your Teachers Health membership, please register the name change with Medicare, as mismatches can result in claiming issues.

If you’ve already done this, you can go ahead and update your membership details via Online Member Services.

  • Log in
  • Go to My membership
  • Click People covered
  • Select Person (whose name you’re updating)
  • Click Edit
  • Enter new Name
  • Enter new Medicare details (if applicable)
  • Click Next
  • Tick Declaration
  • Click Submit

The Private Health Insurance Rebate

Primary members who get a new Medicare number after registering their name change should complete and submit a Australian Government Rebate Application with the new number.

If only the last digit of your Medicare number has changed, this isn’t necessary.
