Are you eligible?

Yes, if you’re covered for emergency ambulance services via a government concession or pension card.

Ambulance-exempt cover is only available if everyone on the membership is covered for these services via a valid Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

If they aren’t, we’re required to update the membership to include Emergency Ambulance cover.

Still eligible?

You’re eligible if you hold a valid Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Care Card.

Please supply the following government concession or pension card details (for everyone on your membership):

  • Name of card holder
  • Card type
  • Card number
  • Start date.

There are two ways you can do this:

  • Email: Send your card details to cards@teachershealth.com.au
  • Phone: Call 1300 728 188 with the above information (Mon - Thurs: 8am - 7pm, Fri: 8am - 6pm, Sat: 8.30am - 12.30pm AEDT/AEST)

When one of the government concession or pension cards we have on file expires, we’ll get in touch to re-check your eligibility.

No longer eligible?

When your government concession or pension card expires, if you don’t provide us with new details, we’ll automatically move you to equivalent Hospital cover that includes Emergency Ambulance.

This will involve a small premium increase – we’ll share the details when we move you to your new cover and confirm the change in writing.

Please note that ambulance-exempt cover is no longer available to new members or people changing their cover. This means that once you come off ambulance-exempt cover we won’t be able to put you back on it again.
