Sarah's Story

Sarah and her fiancé have Teachers Health’s Mid Hospital 500 and Essential Extras products. They chose an excess on their Hospital product so they could lower their contributions but still have peace of mind. “I work in marketing so I’m not easily fooled by gimmicks, and I don’t like surprises so I don’t want to be shocked by any hidden costs or exclusions. I prefer to research all of the competition in the market and work out for myself who’s going to offer me the best products, service and value for money – not just for my current situation, but for what I might need in 5 or so years’ time. And that’s exactly what I did when I was shopping around for my health insurance. I’m 28 so it was important to me that I could claim for the Extras services I use now, like massages and remedial therapies, as well as the standard optical and dental services, plus have peace of mind if I need to go to hospital. I also wanted the option of being able to upgrade my cover with minimal fuss in the future before my fiancé and I start planning to have a family.
