At Teachers Health, we’re continually working to improve your member experience. Whether it’s help in understanding the often-complex world of private health insurance or tips to get more out of your Teachers Health cover, we’re here for you. Our updated Hospital Guide includes all the information you need to help you understand and plan for a hospital admission. We know that going to hospital can be a stressful time, so understanding your hospital cover means one less thing to worry about.
As a not-for-profit health fund, we’re in the business of paying claims – it’s as simple as that. Unlike for-profit insurers (who have shareholders’ interests to consider), there’s simply no motivation for us not to – and we want claiming to be as quick and easy as possible for you. Our How to: Claim for Extras article covers the ins and outs of claiming Extras benefits, such as optical, dental and physio, and how to avoid incorrect claims – keeping claims moving for you.
As always, we’re working hard behind the scenes to improve our technology for you. Our refreshed mobile app is part of this – keep an eye out for more details coming soon.
The fund for you
Building on our HEART foundation, we’re committed to ensuring that Teachers Health continues to be the fund our members choose to support them. Whether it’s being Australia’s number-one most trusted industry-based health fund and in the top three overall most trusted private health insurers in the country (Roy Morgan Net Trust Score – Teachers Health report May 2019) or our industry-leading retention rate of 96.4% (Teachers Health Annual Report 2018), we’re proud that our members choose us and recommend us to friends and family. We’ll continue to work hard to earn this – focusing on returning more in benefits and offering improved programs and services.
Positive workplace culture
We’re also strengthening our HEART values internally, building on our positive workplace culture which in turn help us to create a positive experience for every member. Over the past decade we’ve been strongly committed to supporting and achieving a culture of gender equality and diversity throughout Teachers Health, supporting both women and men to excel.
Our latest achievement in this area is the White Ribbon Workplace accreditation – reflecting Teachers Health’s commitment to ending violence against women. Teachers Health supports anyone affected by violence and we’re dedicated to educating our employees about domestic violence and the means of support available. It’s important to us that we’re continually improving our employee experience just as we improve our member experience – reinforcing our culture which supports our diverse workforce to succeed at Teachers Health.
Like anything, there’s always room for improvement and we’re focused on continually making positive changes where we can. Thank you for your ongoing support.
