A convenient way of finding a provider

Teachers Health Fund has agreements with a large number of hospitals, doctors and general service (extras) providers that will save you money and make it easy to access services and claim benefits.

Find an 'Agreement' private hospital

Teachers Health Fund has agreements with over 500 private hospitals and same day hospitals. Cover at these ‘agreement’ hospitals is dependant on your level of hospital cover and any waiting periods that may apply. Please contact Teachers Health Fund on 1300 728 188 prior to treatment.

Find an ‘Access Gap Cover' doctor

Search for one of the over 11,000 specialists Australia-wide that have utilised no-gap or known gap arrangements with Teachers Health Fund in the past. This is an arrangement between the hospital inpatient and the doctor – please ask your doctor/specialist for Informed Financial Consent prior to treatment. Some doctors who utilise Access Gap Cover are not listed on the search facility as they have chosen not to be listed.

Electronic general service providers

Search for a Dentist, Optometrist, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, Osteopath, Podiatrist or other general service provider that has the electronic claiming facilities (HICAPS or IBA). Remember to take your Teachers Health Fund Member Card when you visit!

Teachers Health Fund has two Teachers Dental services operating out of our Parramatta and Surry Hills Member Care Centres.

Optical providers

Teachers Eyecare   

Teachers Eyecare is fully owned and operated by Teachers Health Fund as a service to members. Currently we have two outlets in Sydney and will soon be opening a third in Melbourne.

At Teachers Eyecare, our staff are trained to consider the needs of individuals as there are many optical options for different needs. As a teachers eyecare specialist, we can utilise our experience to help you select the right eyewear from lenses, coatings, frames, contacts and accessories. We stock a wide selection of the latest brands including Police, Gucci, Dior, and Face a Face. We also have a large selection of no-gap frames to suit many prescriptions. Phone and book a bulk-billed* eye test at any of our three locations.

*Some complex eye-examinations are not bulk-billed such as those for contact lenses.

Smart Eyes Optical

Smart Eyes is a preferred supplier of eyewear for those living in the Illawarra region of New South Wales. Although Smart Eyes Optical is not owned by Teachers Health Fund, we recognise their commitment to our members. Smart Eyes has a large selection of the latest fashion frames from leading designers such as Gucci, Christian Dior, Diesel, and Collette Dinegan.
